from Dr. Alexandra Katehakis – Outside Director for SCA :

“We’re living in a disruptive time; pandemics, war, and climate change disasters are on the rise. I don’t
think we’re ever “going back” to what was. As such, I believe we will continue to see an increase in
addiction as people grasp to regulate themselves and find meaning in a topsy-turvy world. Sadly, the
current sociopolitical climate engenders isolation, violence, and deprivation of those in need making
SCA and its services more critical. SCA will remain a beacon of light through inclusivity, a place for
people to find a “home” where they won’t be judged, and caring fellows to soothe and support them.
May you all flourish and be well.”

SCA NY’s 40th Anniversary celebration: June 18th

SCA New York is proud to celebrate its 40th birthday this year.  Join us — in person or virtually — on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at the LGBT Center at 208 West 13th Street, New York, NY 10011, or in SCA NY’s Zoom room #1.

We will present a Founders Forum at 3:30 pm, honoring Bill L., Frank H., and Saul M. followed by a Gratitude Meeting, from approximately 4:30 to 6:00 pm. Members are welcome to stay afterward to enjoy refreshments and conversation until 7:00 pm (all times are Eastern).

Both the Founders Forum and Gratitude Meeting will be conducted in person and can be attended via our SCA NY Zoom Room #1. Please check our website: for more details, including Zoom room access details.

We ask that those planning to attend in-person fill out the registration form on the website. This will help us plan seating and refreshment arrangements.
