July 29th Meditation: Staying on the Recovery Beam

Wednesday, July 29th

I try to be true to my values and let my Higher Power guide me.

As we work our recovery, we may begin to see changes in our behavior and outlook on life. Some of us associate these changes with spiritual growth.

Recovery involves a commitment that can lead to gradual change. We try to be gentle with ourselves as we work the Steps and use the Tools to expand our lives.  As we continue to tell our stories and remind ourselves and others where we have been and how far we have come, we support our recovery, and we help others.

We broaden our connection to the real world through prayer and meditation. The more we practice connecting with others, the more we improve and expand our conscious contact with our Higher Power. When faced with situations that used to drive us to act out, we realize that our Higher Power is doing for us what we cannot do ourselves.

We discover that recovery has transformed our lives from a set of parts into an integrated whole. We become sober, passionate, recovering human beings, able to accept our mistakes and transcend them.

Recovery has expanded our comfort zone. Trust and faith are again part of our lives.

I thank my Higher Power for looking out for my best interests.
